The following guest post was written by Julie Frans, Co-owner of Dining Details, the featured gourmet caterer for the upcoming January 21st event, The 4th Annual Making The Most of Your Personal Strategy New Year Kickoff.  Julie also owns Chickpeas, which provides nutritious school lunches for growing children.  You can follow Julie on Twitter.

Julie is a member of Six Figure Moms Club.  I’m proud to know her and to have the opportunity to learn from her as another working mother following her dreams and working through the challenges every day.  Thank you Julie for sharing this wonderful post with us.  May you find everything you always wanted…that’s not already right in front of you.

My BFF, Shelley Swisher, always knew I’d be a broadcast journalist and she was right!

On April 8, I’ll be live on the air with two internet radio shows on www.wsradio.com. The first show is about entrepreneurism and the second show is….you guessed it, Twitter Talk Radio!

It’s my great honor to co-host a show about small business owners with Rieva Lesonsky.  Rieva is truly amazing.  She is a small business expert and she writes, speaks and helps small businesses all over the country.  We’ll be interviewing successful entrepreneurs and experts and talking about three major themes:

This is the longest stretch I’ve ever gone without posting to my blog and I’ve missed you guys.  Where do I start?  Everyday I think about a blog post I’d like to write but time just passes by. What I need most is to clone myself.  I know you all know what I mean.  The days of a working mother are crazy during normal times but throw any wrench into the daily routine and everything goes haywire. We’ve had a few wrenches at my house in the past few weeks.

The first thing I read today was Seth Godin’s post on Authenticity. He says that “If it acts like a duck , it’s a duck. It doesn’t matter if the duck thinks it’s a dog, it’s still a duck as far as the rest of us are cosethncerned.”  Seth’s thoughts today apply to working mothers because they are directly related to getting past your self doubt and acting like the person you want to be.  He implies that if you can do that, others will see you as who you want to be and you’ll live it.  Easy right?

Check out this Yahoo article, 7 Ways to Make Extra Money.  All 7 ways are great and they include things like Build a Brand, Start a Blog (you know I love that ONE! ;-) Launch a Website, etc  But the one I want to call your attention to is…Design T-Shirts!  The paragraph on Design T-Shirts features my friend and working mother of three!, Jen Goode, who pays her mortgage by selling T-shirts on CafePress.

Last Thursday, I attended the Six Figure Moms Club event, 3rd Annual Making the Most of Your Personal Strategy New Year Kickoff.  It was a great event.

I met and reconnected with so many women who share similar interests and aspirations, and I created my vision board while delicious food and wine were served.  I came home exhausted but happy, and told my husband that finding the Six Figure Moms Club was one of the best things that happened after we moved to San Diego.

Again today, I am amazed at what you can reach if you just grasp for it. I don’t know why this continues to amaze me, since I continue to see it working in action, but I am still in awe of Law of Attraction.  I had my calender blocked yesterday to work on the January Six Figure Moms Club event.  My plan was to announce the upcoming “3rd Annual Making the Most of Your Personal Strategy New Year Kickoff”.  It’s scheduled for January 22 at a private residence in Fairbanks Ranch, Ca.

Swedish PoemAs I sit here in my San Diego kitchen looking out the windows at the cloudy morning sky on this Christmas eve morning, I wonder about all of you.  It’s quiet in my house as everyone else is still sleeping.  I am drinking my first cup of coffee from my new favorite coffee mug.  I’m very particular about coffee mugs.  This one says ” I heart Harveys. seatbeltbags.com“. It’s white with red letters.  But, what I love about it is the shape and the skinny handle.  It’s tall and slender.  I’m giving you details because today is all about the details.

Gratitude and CiceroSix Figure Moms, What are you REALLY grateful for?  As I’ve read other blogs and articles, I’ve been thinking about this question all week.  I decided I wanted my post to be narrow so I’ve asked myself this question:

“If you only get to give one answer, what ONE thing are you most grateful for?”

My answer is STRUGGLE.  I’m so thankful for the struggle I have in my life and for so many reasons.

  • Struggle makes me continue to grow and think about things from a multitude of perspectives.
  • Struggle reminds me that I’m alive.

A concerned friend called me this week to ask my opinion about putting her children’s pictures on social media sites like Facebook. She knew I had strong opinions about this topic but wanted to discuss pros and cons of both sides of the issue with me. I relayed my thoughts to her as follows:

  • I don’t publish pictures of my daughter on the internet….period. Not anywhere.
  • Since this has not always been my policy so I ask friends and family to alert me if they come upon a picture that I’m not aware of so that I can promptly remove it.
