Thinking Small Serves No One. Period.

I could quit there and let you find your own meaning. I think you’d find inspiration in that one liner today.  However, that’s not likely why you stop by this blog, huh?

I spoke at three events last week (NAWBO, eWomen’s Network Head-to-Toe Expo Luncheon, and Six Figure Moms Club).  Almost every time I address a group, I get more in return than I give because there’s always at least one person who says something fantastic that inspires me more than they can even imagine.  Let me take this opportunity to say “Thank You” to all of you that are so wonderful.

My BFF, Shelley Swisher, always knew I’d be a broadcast journalist and she was right!

On April 8, I’ll be live on the air with two internet radio shows on www.wsradio.com. The first show is about entrepreneurism and the second show is….you guessed it, Twitter Talk Radio!

It’s my great honor to co-host a show about small business owners with Rieva Lesonsky.  Rieva is truly amazing.  She is a small business expert and she writes, speaks and helps small businesses all over the country.  We’ll be interviewing successful entrepreneurs and experts and talking about three major themes:

Even if you aren’t a fan of RAP music, you’ve gotta hand it to M.I.A.’s pregnant Grammy performance last night on the Grammy’s with T.I., Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, and Kanye West.  She rocked the house in a signature couture pregnancy outfit…on, yes listen closely ladies….her due date!  Her outfit was made with polka dots and mesh fabric putting it all out there.  I just had to write about it because to me that takes real confidence and self esteem and I couldn’t have been prouder while I was watching.

I was pondering writing a post about whether or not I’m a Mommy Blogger this morning. Funny, I hadn’t started writing and then I came across this article at Mashable The Top 10 Misconceptions About Mommy Bloggers by Jessica Smith @JessicaKnows on Twitter.

People always ask me this question when I go to Social Media events.  I don’t think I’m a Mommy Blogger but maybe I’m wrong.  I’m not sure what the definition really is.  In actuality it doesn’t really matter.  I’m not a person who likes to put people into boxes or to be classified myself (unless that it, is you want to call me things like Successful, Six Figure Mom, Millionaire, Independent, Entrepreneur, Working Mother ;-)

Again today, I am amazed at what you can reach if you just grasp for it. I don’t know why this continues to amaze me, since I continue to see it working in action, but I am still in awe of Law of Attraction.  I had my calender blocked yesterday to work on the January Six Figure Moms Club event.  My plan was to announce the upcoming “3rd Annual Making the Most of Your Personal Strategy New Year Kickoff”.  It’s scheduled for January 22 at a private residence in Fairbanks Ranch, Ca.

The Ultimate Laundry Room

I went to a holiday party this weekend at a private home in Rancho Sante Fe, Ca.  The gracious host was directing everyone to her laundry room to store their coats.  I just had to snap a picture to share with all of you (with her permission of course and a little help from my friend, Vana White Monica Lucas, Owner of SpaMode who was dressed in white and looking like a snow princess ;-) ).

Gary Vaynerchuk and The Today ShowOn Christmas morning, I was the first one up so I turned on the Today show.  They were covering the Origins of Christmas.  Did you know that the Christmas bulb originated from apples?  In olden days, people hung apples on pine trees to signify the Garden of Eden?  You heard it here, quoted directly from the Today show.  Christmas bulbs signify the original sin.  I’m not really sure I wanted to know that.  How about you?

Swedish PoemAs I sit here in my San Diego kitchen looking out the windows at the cloudy morning sky on this Christmas eve morning, I wonder about all of you.  It’s quiet in my house as everyone else is still sleeping.  I am drinking my first cup of coffee from my new favorite coffee mug.  I’m very particular about coffee mugs.  This one says ” I heart Harveys. seatbeltbags.com“. It’s white with red letters.  But, what I love about it is the shape and the skinny handle.  It’s tall and slender.  I’m giving you details because today is all about the details.

Warren Whitlock and The Twitter Revolution

If you’ve been following along, you know that my love affair with Twitter has been going on for a few months now. This past weekend, I had the great pleasure of meeting the author of The Twitter Revolution, Warren Whitlock…again. Not only did I meet Warren but I also had the honor of joining him at TwitCastRadio when he interviewed Adaptive Blue about Glue, a cool new tool that enhances your web browsing experience.  Can you imagine what I asked when it came to my turn for an interview question?  Of course, you’re right!  I asked how the new tool could interface with twitter!  You’ll also hear Mari Smith stepping in for a few seconds too.  (You can hear our interview by clicking on the links above.)

Guilt, Judgement and The Juggle

Tracy Green just launched a new website, www.smartworkingmom.com.  Her site is worth a look if you have a minute.  This week, she emailed me and also left a comment on my blog.  I’d like to share them both with you because I think you’ll relate to what she’s saying.

Email:  “I applaude you!  It was so refreshing to see a website that makes it okay for moms to work, and want to work and celebrates those who do!  I’m emailing to ask your permission to list www.sixfiguremomsclub.com as a  HOT LINK on my evolving website:  www.smartworkingmom.com.  I’m a full-time, plus working mom of two boys and enjoy having a career. My issue became that I was in complete control and successful at the office, but at home — forget it! I was out of my element.  (Snipped)
