I was pondering writing a post about whether or not I’m a Mommy Blogger this morning. Funny, I hadn’t started writing and then I came across this article at Mashable The Top 10 Misconceptions About Mommy Bloggers by Jessica Smith @JessicaKnows on Twitter.

People always ask me this question when I go to Social Media events.  I don’t think I’m a Mommy Blogger but maybe I’m wrong.  I’m not sure what the definition really is.  In actuality it doesn’t really matter.  I’m not a person who likes to put people into boxes or to be classified myself (unless that it, is you want to call me things like Successful, Six Figure Mom, Millionaire, Independent, Entrepreneur, Working Mother ;-)

Well, I don’t know if she makes Six Figures but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she did.  I met Kim Rowley last week at Affiliate Summit.  She was a nominee for a 2009 Pinnacle Award for Affiliate of the Year.  She’s a mom and an affiliate marketer and she sells something most of us women love…SHOES!  Check out her website, Shoeaholics Anonymous.  She sells great shoes and she’s also an affiliate for Zappos.com.  I love Zappos and I was reminded why several times over the past week.

Women consistently tell me, “I love your blog, but I just don’t think I fit as a Six Figure Mom”.  They tell me they aren’t working right now or they don’t make six figure salaries.  Ladies, regardless, YOU are the target.  You and all other moms that have worked, want to work, or are working now.  The thing you all have in common is that a professional career is ingrained in who you are… whether you work today, yesterday or tomorrow.

During a break at the ASTD conference last month where I was coaching, I wandered over to the conference book store to see what they had to offer.  The selection was quite extensive.  I smiled when I saw a stack of Nan’s books, Hitting Your Stride: Your Work, Your Way that just thinking of her life made me happy.  I’d rather write about her here than tell you about her book.  That’s the great thing about a blog, I get to choose the content.  I’ve never met Nan in person but I interviewed her for my book, Quitting is Everything!  and became a life long fan.  Here are some other reasons why I love Nan:
