The evening will be catered with wonderful foods and wines for your enjoyment while you are free to enjoy each others company. You can chat, brainstorm and gain inspiration from other attendees about creating your BEST LIFE for 2009. Come dressed up or wear your favorite comfortable clothes…whatever helps you get your creative juices flowing. This night is all about you, your focus and planning your intentions for 2009.

The event featured a panel of experts sharing new work flexibility programs including: Jodi Thompson & Cali Ressler – Founders of CultureRX and the Results Only Work Environment for Best Buy. Jodi and Cali spoke about the ground-breaking initiative that revolutionized Best Buy’s corporate culture, increased employee engagement, and lowered turnover. They have been featured in BusinessWeek, Time Magazine, and HR Magazine for their work. Rufino Autus has over 12 years of experience as a Financial Advisor; specializing in the area of Retirement Planning and Comprehensive Wealth Management Services for individuals and small business owners. February, 2008: Stories and Inspiration from Pamela Mudd, entrepreneur, philanthropist, mother of 3, La Jolla
Pamela Mudd, will join us to share her story and her life philosophies as a six figure mom. Mrs. Mudd received her BS in Business Administration from UC Berkeley in 1984. She spent 13 years in the private finance sector before starting Music Match, an internet digital music company with her husband. After selling the company 7 years later to Yahoo! she decided to dedicate herself to using her private sector skills for non-profit causes. She sits on the board of directors of Foundation for Women, a local non-profit working to end poverty through the use of micro credit in Asia and Africa. She also sits on the board of several other San Diego foundations dedicated to technology and sport in the youth community. She lives in Poway with her husband and 3 sons.

Tasteful Creations: Denise Oka worked in the telecom industry as an IT professional for over 10 years before changing her path and going to cooking school. Denise, always a great cook, is now completing her training to become a master chef. It is my pleasure to have Denise cooking for us and maybe even showing us a few pointers. Menu is chef’s choice.

October, 2007: Nonprofit Panel: How You Can Make a Difference In The World, La Jolla
Our October program will consist of a panel of San Diegans who have chosen to devote their time and energy to serving our community and the world. Peggy Kidd, Executive Director of San Diego Social Venture Partners, will chair this panel. Our guests will share their knowledge of local organizations, their own giving efforts and tails of travels to less fortunate communities/countries. They will also highlight career opportunities in the nonprofit arena that will allow you to give back to the community while still experiencing intellectual stimulation and satisfaction. Participating in Non Profit ventures can be a great interim activity while your children are smaller and you aren’t ready for a hectic work position but still want a way to stimulate your mind.

Sherri Petro, President of VPI Strategies, will present her experience in building a flexible workforce. The old definition of working part-time is getting a facelift. Sherri will share why and how the workforce is changing to leverage each person’s strengths. Sherri will discuss how she mentors her consultants and leverages their talents in her company’s research, strategy development, training and coaching projects. She has created a virtual organization of working parents, retirees, students and other entrepreneurs to fulfill client needs. She also subcontracts to others. She will share how she developed the culture, created communication processes and standards, continually recruits and uses technology that works for all in a lively interactive discussion.
