I was trying to find you on Twitter tonight and my rabbit holes led me here. I find huge rest in knowing that I've got another entrepreneur Mom in the boat w/ me. And, that on oour way from 'zero to Master' in business we are still there to hold the hearts of our children we love when they need us most.
Best of Energy!

I think that dealing with "wrenches" can be especially challenging for members of this group who tend to be highly organized, effective and efficient. I know that I struggle when life's wrenches reduce my abilities to be any or all of those things. The good news is that this too shall pass and that we have the strong coping skills to get through it.

I'm looking for a good children's book about personal privacy that I can read with my young children. The ones I've found so far are geared more towards the late elementary school age and older. As you've sadly learned our younger children need just as much training. So if anyone has a recommendation please share it.

As for parent resources I highly recommend "Protecting the Gift: Keeping Children and Teenagers Safe (and Parents Sane)" by Gavin de Becker. Another good source of real facts, statistics and advice is the State Attorney General's office website, specifically the Megan's Law section: http://www.meganslaw.ca.gov/index.aspx?lang=ENGLISH. Be sure to read the Facts about Sex Offenders section.

But for now just focus on the fun. Happy 4th, Little Swartz!

Sorry for your monkey wrenches Angie! Hope little one is better soon. And the training goes well. I guess that's lifelong. I was an "early bloomer" so I had a lot of what I now realize was sexual harassment as a teen - even from my male Junior High and High School teachers. Luckily my parents had raised me as a SUPERGIRL even all those yars ago. So no lasting damage. Thanks Mom and Dad.

And it is always reassuring to me to learn that my colleagues don't lead perfect lives. I agree that doing things for others, dancing and exercise make me feel better. And don't underestimate a cup of hot tea or glass of wine. Or BOTH, which is what I have right now. On to my taxes...

Hope you have a great 4th birthday!
