Even if you aren’t a fan of RAP music, you’ve gotta hand it to M.I.A.’s pregnant Grammy performance last night on the Grammy’s with T.I., Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, and Kanye West. She rocked the house in a signature couture pregnancy outfit…on, yes listen closely ladies….her due date! Her outfit was made with polka dots and mesh fabric putting it all out there. I just had to write about it because to me that takes real confidence and self esteem and I couldn’t have been prouder while I was watching.
There was a woman standing on stage with four men, doing what she loved, thinking outside of the box about career options for working mothers, paving new paths for future generations, keeping it real and doing it her way and shining with Self Esteem. Next time you’re feeling insecure about anything, think about Ms. M.I.A. rocking it on the stage with her 9 month pregnant belly covered in Mesh. You just gotta love it!

Oh man, Angie, I watched that performance last night and just shook my head. I thought that outfit was a hot mess! I agree that she had to have confidence to get out there in it, much less 9 months on her due date. I applaud her for rockin’ her tummy the way she did, but that outfit was tacky (even if she wasn’t pregnant). She really should have worn something else, especially out there with four of hip hops heavy weights who all looked very dapper in their suits.
I wasn’t sure how to take this. She looked ready to give birth on stage! Still, it’s impressive that she was able to get out there and rock with some of the biggest men in rap.
She definitely has some serious confidence to have been out on stage, but it was great to see her perform with all of them. One of the best performances of the night thanks to her!

She looked ridiculous! They were all in suits – why wasn’t she dressed a little better? The polka dots on her rear were most unbecoming.
