Angie,
I absolutely agree with everything you have shared. With the two kiddos and me being sick this past week (which would have been my holiday preparations week) I was unable to attend to much of the holiday preparations or festivities that had been "in the plan". So instead of beating myself up about things I had no control over, I chose to embrace the experience as an opportunity to practice surrender and just step into what "is good" in each moment. I have had a couple of days this week that had so many things go wrong that it was close to Laurel and Hardy comedy - so boy have I really been digging deep in my practice of releasing expectations.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on being in the moment during the holidays. This coupled with detaching from expectations has really enabled me to step into the excitement of the chaos rather than have it be a source of stress.
Happy Holidays to you and your family. I wish for you a glorious and successful 2009!

Hi Angie -

Happy, Happy Holidays to you and your family! And thank you, thank you for being such a terrific friend, mentor, encourager, and role model. You are right - today is all about just enjoying the moments (oh, and running a few last minute errands). My kids are great, we have many wonderful friends and a loving family, much to be thankful for, and we'll (or at least I) will shed a few tears too. Goes with the territory right now...but for today, there is mucho excitement in my house! Christmas is really almost here!

Much love to all-
Carol

PS - I have much to talk to you about in 2009 re:the next directions in my life. :-)
